 ISO Registration
Duraloy was the first foundry in North America to be ISO 9001 registered. ISO 9000 is an internationally recognized standard for consistent, outstanding quality and excellence. Duraloy received its initial, 3-year ISO 9001:1994 registration in July 1997 after a definitive audit of its plant-wide production, quality and process control procedures. Duraloy successfully passed an ISO required re-audit, also to ISO 9001:1994 standards, in July of 2000 and was subsequently re-registered for another 3-year term.
In June of 2003, Duraloy successfully passed the "transition audit" to upgrade our registration to the requirements of ISO 9001:2000. This new version of the original ISO 9000:1994 standard has a greater emphasis on the company "performance" with less emphasis on company "conformance". As with the older standard, Duraloy's registration to ISO 9001:2000 ran for a three year term, with surveillance audits performed regularly to insure continued compliance.
In June of 2006, Duraloy successfully passed a full "re-registration audit" performed by our registrar, SRI Quality System Registrar. This re-registration audit extends Duraloy's ISO 9001:2000 registration for another three years, but still requires surveillance audits to be performed at regular intervals to insure continued compliance.

PED Registration
Since 2005, Duraloy has held PED registration for the manufacture of centrifugally cast tubes and static cast fittings, and fabrication of welded assemblies. PED, or Pressure Equipment Directive, is a standard established by the European Community (EC) to apply to all components that are installed in the EC which are pressure containing. The standard insures that pressure containing parts are produced by manufacturers that have a well documented quality system and a demonstrated ability to produce quality products in accordance with that system.
Registration to Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EC required that Duraloy's quality system be reviewed and approved, then parts had to be produced and tested by an independent, PED registered laboratory. The results were then submitted to a PED registered auditor for analysis and acceptance. Only after the procedures and results were accepted, was the PED registration issued. This standard not only insures that a well documented system exists and is followed, but insures that the procedures produce quality parts.

In the end they set the final standard for quality which meets their needs. Quality at Duraloy means more than quality products. It means complete customer service and satisfaction with support at all phases of design and manufacturing, from the selection of alloys to designing components.
At Duraloy, quality is assured through comprehensive testing such as radiography, LPI, process control, pneumatic and hydro testing, chemical analysis, room-temperature and elevated temperature mechanical evaluation and dimensional inspection. We are able to work to the standards of the ASME, ASNT, ASTM and AWS.
