Duraloy wins THIRD r&d 100 award!

For the third time, Duraloy has won the R&D 100® award, presented
annually by R&D® magazine. R&D® Magazine has presented the award for the
last 49 years to "salute the 100 most technologically
significant products introduced into the marketplace over the
past year." Since it's inception, the R&D 100® award has been
given to the developers of many new inventions, including
automated teller machines (ATM'S), the Nicoderm® stop
smoking patch, the fax machine and HDTV.
This year, Duraloy, in association with Oak Ridge National
Laboratories, won the award In the "Process Technology"
category, for their development of "New Stainless Steel Alloy
Tooling for High Temperature Presses that Form Aircraft
Components." In 2006, Duraloy, in conjunction with Nucor
Steel and Oak Ridge National Laboratories, received the award
for the introduction of "New Heat-Resistant Alloys Developed
using Computer Aided Alloy Design". In 2007, Duraloy, in
conjunction with Mittal Steel and Oak Ridge National
Laboratories, received the award for the introduction of "Cast
Nickel Aluminide for Steel Heat Treating Furnaces".
For many years, Duraloy has been the world leader in the supply
of high temperature alloys that are used in Super Plastic
Forming Presses (SPF). Duraloy joined forces with Oak Ridge
National Laboratory, to take these alloys to the next level,
developing several other alloys that fit a broader range of
applications and temperatures. For more information on SPF press
parts, click HERE.
The award will be presented the R&D 100® Awards Banquet and
Exposition on October 13, 2011 in Orlando, Florida.
